Codex Alimentarius: The International Reference for Food Supplements

Since 1963 Codex Alimentarius has been creating global standards in the food area. Run jointly under the World Health Organisation and the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations, Codex has a major impact on all regulation that is created across the world in the food area, including supplements. Understanding how Codex impacts supplements and why key decisions have been taken by different Codex committees is important for anyone involved in regulation in this area. This Guide has been developed to provide essential knowledge to IADSA members and government officials and to help all involved maximise their effectiveness in the Codex process.
